The Foundation · 501(c)(3) in formation
Cost should never decide who gets to train.
The AdaptAbility Co Foundation is being formed to do what a for-profit can't: hold a fund that keeps the work affordable, route donations to the families who need them, and build the programs this community deserves.
How it's set up
Two entities, one mission.
AdaptAbility Co the company handles everything commercial: training, the app, the certifications, consulting. A separate non-profit, the AdaptAbility Co Foundation, handles everything charitable: subsidized access, the scholarship pool, the day program, and partnerships with advocacy organizations, schools, and adaptive sports programs.
The Foundation is in formation now, with an attorney and accountant structuring it properly. It's the piece that makes grant funding, tax-deductible giving, and formal institutional endorsements possible. This page describes what it's being built to do.
The Client Support Fund
Affordable access, made into a mechanism.
Picture an account, set up like an HSA, that donors contribute to and families with real need can draw from for discounted sessions and services. That's the fund.
It exists so access doesn't depend on me quietly paying out of my own pocket, which I've done, and which isn't sustainable with a family to support. The fund turns a generous instinct into something durable. It isn't charity handed down. It's how the work is built.
What the fund covers
- Discounted session rates for families who can't pay full price
- A scholarship pool for ongoing training
- Outings and activities that round out the work
- Group programming that no single family has to carry
Capability, never pity
No "look how brave." No "despite their challenges." Just a real person, doing real things, named for what makes them capable and particular. The disability isn't the story. The person is.
Client of the Week
The engine that feeds the fund.
Regular features that show what a specific client is doing, what they've built, what makes them extraordinary. It builds community, gives people recognition they've earned, and turns attention into donations that flow back into the Client Support Fund.
The spotlight creates the awareness and the will to give. The fund turns that will into access for someone who needs it. The two were always meant to run together.
What it's building toward
The day program.
Not a babysitting service. Not supervised occupancy. A place where every person leaves stronger, more skilled, more self-aware, and more capable than they arrived, across the physical, the practical, the social, and the emotional at once.
Greenhouse & gym
The dream space under one roof. Growing food and building bodies in the same place.
Real skills
Gardening, cooking, and preservation in summer. Daily physical training as a constant.
Human development
Social and emotional skill-building woven into how every session runs, year-round.
A high floor
Every piece undeniably good and built to make an impact. This community deserves more than it's been given.
Help build it
There's real money in this space, and real people who want to help.
